International Market

People from those areas or countries will see your online store in the language and currency of your main market when they visit, but they won’t be able to checkout. These countries and areas are taken off this list when they are added to new markets from this market.
Add a Market

If you make a new market that includes places or countries that are already in another market, the new market takes precedence over the other market. The country or area is taken out of the old market and added to the new one.
If the existing market doesn’t have any other countries or regions in it, it will be deleted instantly, along with any foreign prices, domains, subfolders, or customizations that go with it.
The market is already open if you already ship to all the countries and areas that are part of the new market. If not, the new market won’t work, and you’ll have to activate the market before buyers can leave your store.
Steps:
- From Shopify admin, go to Settings> Markets
- Click Add Market
- Enter a Market name. So you can easily find the market within Shopify admin, and can’t be displayed to the customers.
- Click Add Countries/Regions
- Add in any nations and geographical areas that you would like to have represented in this market.
Preview a Market

Shipping to Brazil
The Shopify Market has an important tool during the checkout process for online stores that want to sell to people in Brazil. This function, which is called “Additional Information,” is only available on the payment page of the checkout process for your online store. You should know that this area only shows up in the online store and not in Shopify POS or the mobile app.
In Brazil, buyers must enter their Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas (CPF) or Cadastro Nacional da Pessoa Jurídica (CNPJ) number into this field whenever they receive packages from within the country or from other countries.
After an order has been made, all you have to do to get this information is go to the customer’s order details page. For international customers who don’t have a CPF or CNPJ number, this field lets them put their passport number.
Transportation to South Korea
The “Additional Information” field during checkout is a very important addition to “Shopify Market” for businesses that want to sell to South Korean buyers but ship from other countries. This area is only on the payment page for the online store. It’s not on Shopify POS or the mobile app.
People in South Korea who receive packages from other countries need to enter their Personal Customs Clearance Code (PCCC) in this field. You can easily get to a customer’s PCCC; it’s right on the page that lists their order information. If your customer is not from the United States and does not have a PCCC, they can easily use their passport number in this area.
Shipping to Italy
When you check out on Shopify Market, there are two important areas below the payment page that are called “Additional Information.” For sellers in Italy who are selling to people in Italy, these parts are just for them. Please keep in mind that these areas are only shown during the checkout process on online stores. They are not present on Shopify POS or the mobile app.
In Italy, customers use these areas to enter important information like their Codice Fiscale (CF) and Posta Elettronica Certificata (PEC). When a customer puts an order, the order summary page makes it easy to find their CF number and PEC information.
Shipment to China
If you want to sell things online to Chinese people, you need to know what the “Additional Information” field on the Shopify Market means. You will only find this field on the payment page of the web store. It is not present on Shopify POS or the mobile app.
People who live outside of China need to enter their People’s Republic of China Resident Identity Card (resident ID) into this area when they receive their packages. But if your customer is not from the United States and does not have a resident ID, they can just enter their card number.

Publishing Products with Shopify Markets
With Shopify Markets, you have the power to decide where your products shine. Each market you create is a potential stage for your offerings. By publishing a product to a market, it becomes accessible to customers within that market.

Details for Market-Specific Product Publication
It’s important to add a country selection to your Shopify Market so that your online store can serve customers from all over the world and offer personalized prices on products. This useful feature lets your customers choose where they want to shop, so the product descriptions and prices are correct for their area. In cases where your theme doesn’t have a built-in country selection, the Geolocation app could be a good way to give your customers this important feature.
Unpublish a Market-Specific Product
When you add a new market, all of the products in your store will automatically be published to that market. You can prevent a product from being displayed in a market by unpublishing it for that market.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Markets.
- For the market that you want to unpublish a product from, click Manage.
- In the Products and pricing section, click Manage.
- In the product list, click the checkbox for the product that you want to unpublish from the market, and then click Exclude from market.
- Click Save.

- Go to Shopify admin, go to Settings > Markets.
- For the market that you want to publish a product, click on Manage.
- In the Product and Pricing section, click Manage.

Add or Remove Products in Bulk
You can use the bulk editor in your Shopify admin or upload a CSV file to publish or remove goods for markets all at once.

- From Shopify admin, go to Products.
- Select the products you want to publish or unpublish from the markets.
- Choose Bulk Edit.
- Click On Columns, and then select the markets where you want to change the publishing status.
- Under every market, select the option to publish a product or deselect the option for unpublishing the product.
- Click Save.
Control the Market Publishing with CSV files
To manage which commodities are published in each market, export a CSV file containing the things to publish or remove. The CSV export file comprises columns for posting each market you’ve enabled, with the market name in each. Change the CSV file and upload it to your store.

Step 1, send the goods out with a CSV file.
You can export a CSV file from your Shopify admin. This file has columns for publishing for each market you have allowed.
So that you only export some of your items, you can sort your product list and pick only the ones you want to export.

Step 2: Update the CSV file
Change the Product CSV file you exported from Shopify to change product publishing states. Removing a column for an enabled market will not affect publishing.
Your CSV file should have identical column names for each market. Imagine a North American market. The column Included / North America changes how products are published for that market.
Fill up the appropriate section with TRUE to sell a product. Remove a product from a market by typing FALSE.
If each country or area wasn’t formed as a market, you can’t use a CSV to set different posting rules within the same market.
Use a CSV file to bring in goods.
You can add the Product CSV file to your Shopify admin after making changes to it to publish or unpublish goods. The Product CSV file doesn’t need to have all of the product information, but it does need to have the Handle, Title, Variant Option, and market publishing fields you want to import.
Filtering Products by Published Status
You can sort the product list so that it only shows goods that are in or out of a certain market to see which ones are published to that market.
- Go to Shopify admin, Settings > Markets.
- For the market which you want to include a product in, click Manage.
- In the Product and Pricing section, click Manage.
- In the product list, do one of the following:
- Click on Include to display all the products which are published to the market.
- Click Exclude to display all the products that are unpublished to the market.
Drafting and Editing Orders
Publishing a product per market doesn’t work for draft orders or orders that are being edited. An example of this would be if you have a product that hasn’t been released in the UK market yet but you want to sell it to a customer in the UK anyway.
You could make a draft order for that customer. In the same way, editing products on an order can override the rules you set up in Shopify Markets for posting products, in case you need to give customers an exception.
Finding Products in an Online Store
Shopify’s built-in search function is great for directing customers to specific products, but it will only return results for products that have been published in a given market. In order to find out if your store’s search results are filtered by market, you need to contact the app’s creator if you are using a third-party search app.
Behavioral Redirection
If a customer tries to access an item that isn’t available in their region, they will be taken back to the store’s main page. A consumer from the United Kingdom visits your store, even though the United States is your core market. Using your site’s nation picker, a buyer from the United Kingdom looks at an item that can only be shipped within the United States. If a consumer tries to buy an item that is restricted from export to the UK, they will be taken to the store’s main page instead.
Restrictions
The only places where posting and unpublishing products at the market level happen are in the online shop, custom storefronts, and channels that use the in Context directive. As of right now, publishing goods that are only available in certain markets is not possible through any other channels. This means that any products you publish will be available in all markets.
