The project aimed to upgrade the Magento version, enhance the website’s functionality, and create a seamless shopping experience for their customers. This required a complete overhaul of the frontend and backend systems, ensuring mobile responsiveness, ease of navigation, and advanced customization options.
Expectation from Clients
Our client’s primary expectation was to develop a platform that made complex purchasing decisions easier for their customers. They needed a personalized product configurator that could handle a wide range of variables, allowing customers to calculate the exact materials needed for their projects.
Additionally, they wanted us to create a checkout and cart experience that was both intuitive and robust, capable of managing intricate shipping options and promotional pricing. Mobile responsiveness was also crucial, as more customers are shopping from their phones and tablets.
What Was the Process?
We began by thoroughly assessing the existing Magento setup to identify areas for improvement. The decision to upgrade to the latest Magento version was a critical step, ensuring that the platform was stable, secure, and capable of supporting future growth.
Next, we designed and developed a mobile-responsive custom frontend theme that would deliver a consistent and engaging user experience, regardless of the device. This new design was not only visually appealing but also optimized for speed and performance.
A major component of our work was creating a personalized product configurator wizard calculator. This tool was meticulously crafted to help customers easily input their project details and receive accurate product recommendations and calculations, simplifying their shopping experience.
For shipping, we integrated and customized ShipperHQ to manage the complex logistics involved with multiple collection points and varying delivery options. We then focused on the checkout process, developing a fully customized multi-step wizard that guided customers through each stage, making it easier and more transparent.
We also installed and configured multiple third-party extensions to enhance site functionality, including advanced search capabilities, customer reviews, and account management tools. Finally, we gave special attention to the cart page, fully customizing it to handle shipping and promotional price behaviors, ensuring that customers received accurate pricing information before completing their purchase.
